An Apple Picking Adventure Infused with Yoga Bliss

Updated: Dec 12, 2023

As the last traces of summer fade away, the memories linger—of sunny days, the sweet aroma of apples in the air, and the opportunity to intertwine nature's beauty with the practice of yoga. In this blog entry, I'm excited to share the enchanting blend of apple picking and yoga, an outdoor adventure that transcends seasons.

Imagine wandering through rows of apple-laden trees, the crisp autumn breeze carrying the scent of ripe fruit. The orchard becomes a tranquil haven, providing the perfect backdrop for a unique yoga session. The vibrant colors of fall, the rustling leaves, and the aroma of apples create a harmonious atmosphere for yoga amidst nature's bounty.

Tree Pose (Vrksasana) and Variation

Vrksasana: Stand on one leg and place the sole of the other foot on the inner thigh or calf, avoiding the knee. Bring your palms together in a prayer position at your chest or raise your arms overhead.

Variation: Experiment with playful variations, perhaps lifting the arms like branches swaying in the breeze, or challenging your balance by closing your eyes.

Mountain Pose (Tadasana):

Stand tall with feet together, grounding through all four corners of your feet. Engage your thighs, lift the chest, and extend your arms alongside your body or overhead, palms facing each other.

Warrior 3 (Virabhadrasana 3)

Shift your weight onto one leg, extend the other leg behind you, and parallel to the ground. Simultaneously, reach your arms forward, creating a straight line from your fingertips to your extended back leg.

Eagle Pose (Garudasana) with Variation

Garudasana: Cross one leg over the other at the thighs, then wrap the foot around the standing calf. Cross one arm over the other at the elbows and bring the palms together.

Variation: Play with different arm variations or explore a deeper twist for added challenge.

Chair Pose (Utkatasana)

Sit back as if sitting in an invisible chair, bending the knees and lowering the hips. Extend the arms forward or raise them overhead, keeping the weight in the heels.

Crow Pose (Bakasana)

Start in a squat position, place your hands on the mat, and lean forward, shifting your weight onto your hands. Lift your feet off the ground, bringing your knees towards your upper arms, finding balance.

Chaturangga Dandasana

Begin in a plank position, lower your body down, keeping it in a straight line, until your elbows are bent at a 90-degree angle. This pose is often part of a flowing sequence.

Plank Pose

Start in a push-up position with your arms straight, wrists under the shoulders, and body in a straight line. Engage your core and hold the position, building strength in the arms, shoulders, and core.

Beyond the physical gains, the magic of outdoor yoga lies in its ability to nurture the heart and soul. The open air becomes your sanctuary, the rustling leaves your music, and the entire experience, a celebration of the present moment.

Watch the video, let the positive vibes flow, and immerse yourself in the beauty of this heartwarming blend of nature's gifts. Because, after all, life is an adventure, and every breath, a celebration.

Happy picking, happy yoga, and happy you!
